The Cool Hotel Guide: Hotel du Vin, Wimbledon

Bang on time for Wimbledon, Hotel du Vin has opened its latest branch, in the premises of a former hotel just round the corner from the courts . You wouldn’t guess, though, that tennis meant much locally — there’s a conspicuous lack of reference to the game at the hotel, other than a single picture of a 1960s match in a hallway. It feels a little as if the hotel has missed a trick. Instead, the chain has stuck to its tried-and-tested formula of smart neutral colours, combined with a bon viveur ambiance in its restaurant and bar.
