Mutant Giant Spider Dog is a YouTube video that went viral with more than 144 million views, June 2015. The video was created by Polish YouTuber Sylwester Wardega. A 2013 video by Wardega called "Police Trainer" had 4.5 million views, and a threat that he may be charged with wasting police time.
The video features a medium-sized dog called "Chica" wearing a much larger spider costume. (Chica is Wardega's pet dog) The costume "bounces around in an unnerving manner when the dog trots along." In the video, people going about daily chores such as putting out a garbage bin or waiting for an elevator are confronted by the "Mutant Giant Spider Dog" and flee.
According to the YouTube blog, "Mutant Giant Spider Dog" was the number one "top trending video" of 2014.
By 9 December 2014, his videos have garnered around 400 million views, while his channel has over 2.6 million subscribers.
